What do you get from coffee, energy drinks and Hoola?

With Hoola, you get coffee-level caffeine plus support for focus and your natural stress response, with vitamins and minerals in one scoop. Coffee and energy drinks have different ingredients and serving sizes, so compare the amount you actually drink.

Option Caffeine Sugar What else is inside
Hoola, our daily 10 g scoop 100 mg natural caffeine No sugar enXtra, BacoMind bacopa, KSM-66 ashwagandha, cordyceps, Korean ginseng, reishi, vitamins and minerals
Coffee, preparation varies 80 mg for instant coffee made with one teaspoon; 145 mg for a 50 mL espresso. No added sugar in plain coffee. Naturally occurring B2, B3, potassium, magnesium and phenolic compounds; individual amounts not stated.

Coffee's caffeine examples describe specific preparations; the price example describes a flat white. They aren't measurements of the same cup. Can prices use single-can purchases, with no multipack or multibuy discount. “Not stated” means the product information gives no amount.

If your morning drink needs to cover focus and everyday stress support too, our Hoola daily scoop puts those benefits in the same routine.

Which has more caffeine: coffee or energy drinks?

Coffee can contain more caffeine than an energy drink, depending on the preparation and serving size. Healthdirect lists 145 mg in a 50 mL espresso and 80 mg in a 250 mL energy drink. With Hoola, your daily scoop contains a stated 100 mg of natural caffeine.

“An energy drink” and “a coffee” aren't fixed caffeine amounts. Healthdirect's instant-coffee example uses one teaspoon and contains 80 mg. Red Bull's original 250 mL can also contains 80 mg. Coffee preparation can change its caffeine content, so a cup count alone won't tell you the amount. We built Hoola for a daily routine that includes caffeine: one 10 g scoop has 100 mg.

In Australia, FSANZ sets a maximum caffeine concentration of 320 mg per litre for energy drinks. A concentration limit is different from the amount in your whole drink. Compare the stated serving size as well as the caffeine figure.

Healthdirect says caffeine's short-term effects typically begin after about 30 minutes and can last up to 6 hours, depending on the individual. You can read more about caffeine's effects if you're weighing your morning routine against your evening wind-down.

For daily energy support through the afternoon energy dip, we include cordyceps and Korean ginseng alongside the caffeine. Cordyceps supports natural energy production; Korean ginseng supports natural energy levels and helps reduce occasional tiredness.

How do the sugar-free options compare?

You can have a daily drink with no sugar in Hoola, while plain coffee has no added sugar and sugar-free energy drinks are also available.

The original Red Bull 250 mL nutrition panel lists 27.0 g of sugar per serving. That figure belongs to the original can, not the sugar-free version. Monster's original green can lists sucrose and glucose; a numerical sugar amount was unavailable in the Coles text used for this comparison. Energy-drink formulas differ.

For your own coffee, added sugar and flavoured syrups change what goes into the drink. With our formula, no sugar comes with support for sustained focus and your natural stress response. It's also vegan and gluten free.

What supports focus and a calmer busy day?

You get support for sustained focus and your natural stress response together in Hoola. Clear focus has its place when your to-do list is long: enXtra supports mental alertness, attention and sustained focus alongside the caffeine, while BacoMind bacopa supports memory, recall and concentration.

For a calmer response to everyday pressure, KSM-66 ashwagandha helps support the body's natural stress response. Reishi supports relaxation without sedation. We built our formula around calm clarity and energised performance.

You also get daily vitamins and minerals in the same scoop. Our B vitamins support normal energy metabolism; vitamin C supports normal immune function, and vegan vitamin D3 supports muscle and bone health.

Coffee has naturally occurring nutrients too, including B2, B3, potassium and magnesium. Red Bull lists B vitamins, and Monster lists B vitamins plus Panax ginseng. Our case for Hoola is the specific combination of energy, focus, memory and stress-response support in one daily formula.
